King's Way Classical Academy - The Source of State & Individual Rights

Individual rights and states rights begin with commitment to the covenant of God at every level. During good times in Israel, “every man dwelt under his own vine and fig tree,” symbolizing the prosperity and liberty that accompanied obedience.

As long as Israel remained committed to national obedience to the law of God, things went well. Problems began when Solomon forsook the national covenant with God. The conflict deepened at his death when Israel under Jeroboam seceded from the Kingdom because of Rehoboam’s tax increase (I Kings 11:14-16). Rehoboam prepared for civil war to maintain the united kingdom, but God said let them go (v.24).

Likewise, our Puritan fathers were blessed as long as they remained faithful to the covenant with God. The penal sanctions in the Massachusetts Body of Liberties were cross-referenced directly to the Law of Moses, chapter and verse. The civil leader in Massachusetts had to swear allegiance to God and the Bible before taking office.

Most of the 13 colonial constitutions contained covenant language of commitment to God and were blessed accordingly. As America drifted from the oath to pattern her legal system after the law of God, individual and state’s rights suffered accordingly. One consequence was the tragic War Between the States. The South seceded to escape oppressive tariffs, but unlike Rehoboam Abraham Lincoln refused to let them go. Tragedy and loss of individual and state rights have continued through our present day.

Only one on-line school has integrated this covenantal approach into all its coursework: King's Way Classical Academy! We are committed to helping you get over the hurdles as you embark onthe homeschooling adventure. We salute your commitment to exploring the home school alternative to the government school system. Unfortunately most Christians don't realize the extent to which these schools are molding their children's thinking for secular purposes, rather than God's purposes.

Sometimes homeschooling parents of junior high or high school students don't have the time or expertise to teach certain courses and turn to King's Way Classical Academy for help. King's Way courses equip your students with the lost tools of learning, built intothe usual subjects. King's Way students practice critical thinking skills that help them evaluate the barrage of propaganda they get from the media and other sources. They learn to think about the world from a Biblical perspective and how to communicate the Biblical worldview to others.
